The National Irrigation Board has begun educating farmers in Bunyala about increasing land under food production.
The board has started building irrigation and drainage structures in areas targeted for rice growing next season.
Some 2,144 acres belonging to 2,052 households are under irrigation but the board wants to increase the land by 200 acres.
