Kenya launches harmonized system for inspecting and clearing imports

Kenyan manufacturers have launched a one-stop reference for all government agencies involved in inspection, verification and clearance of imported cargo.

It is a document clearly outlining the importation process, the timeline, and government agencies involved in the process.

The document referred to as ‘Standard Operating Procedures’ aims to increase efficiency at the ports of entry in Kenya, reduce the time it takes to clear imports and cut the cost of importation. Additionally, it is meant to minimize the entry of illicit goods into Kenya.
