Public Schools titling ceremony (Siaya County)

Public Schools Titling Ceremony at BarKowino Secondary in Bondo Siaya County. CS Lands Faridah Karoney with NLC Chair Prof. Muhammad Swazuri will issues 209 title deeds to school heads.

The NLC is part of a gazetted working group from the Ministry of Lands, Shule Yangu campaign, the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK), and the Ministry of Education that is works to ensure all public schools in the Country are protected from invaders and grabbers and through titling.

Prof Swazuri NLC Chair, stated that this titling program has achieved much since its inception in 2015 through Presidential Directive and has seen over 9000 public schools titled. The Government has waived survey fee for public schools land to ease and fasten the titling process.

The CS Lands, Faridah Karoney said it’s very important to title schools and safeguard our future generations as they deserve safe, secure and protected school environments.

The CS further stated that there should be no reason for schools to lack titles 55 years after independence. Kenya has over 32,000 public schools and approximately 9000 schools have titles so far.

The Lands CS also presided over issuance of 3,000 title deeds to residents of Usenge, Bondo, Siaya County under the Wizara Mashinani Programme.
