The Lands Cabinet secretary during issuance of 200o title deeds in Uasin Gishu county, said the state will issues 350,000 title deeds across the county in the next five months. Sighting a directive from President Uhuru Kenyatta which aims to speed up issuance of the tittle deeds. The CS together with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Justin Muturi, presided over the event that saw the members of Ogiek community settled on land hived off of Cheboror public forest.
In the same breath, she urged Kenyans to embrace alternative dispute resolution mechanisms (out of court settlements) in order to make it easy for the state to issue title deeds. This is majorly so because of the high number of land cases families have filed in courts across the country.
