Fibre network set to bridge digital gap in four counties

Business activities in Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Turkana and West Pokot counties will receive a major boost on completion of Eldoret-Nakodok fibre optic cable network.

The 630km high speed fibre optic cable was commissioned last Friday. It is jointly funded by the government of Kenya and World Bank at a cost of Sh3 billion.

The project set for completion in December 2021 will further accelerate development expected from the construction of a World Bank-funded 338 kilometre road from Lokichar to Kainuk bridge, which links Turkana and West Pokot counties…
