Passenger train returns to Nanyuki two decades later

Kenya Railways on Friday made its maiden journey of a passenger train from Nairobi to Nanyuki in close to two decades.

In a bid to boost trade and tourism in the region, the national government, Laikipia County and the Kenya Railways unveiled plans to ferry passengers every weekend to Nanyuki and back.

County Trade, Tourism and Cooperatives executive Nicholas Biwott, said Kenya Railways would make one trip from Nairobi to Nanyuki on Fridays and back to the city on Sundays…
