Pedestrians make up highest number of road traffic deaths

More people have died from traffic accidents this year than 2019, with pedestrians accounting for a third of the deaths.

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) says out of the 3,114 road accident victims since January, some 1,108 were pedestrians. Though they are 29 less than what was recorded last year, the figure is still of concern to NTSA.

The report was released just a day after former Nation editor Daniel Otieno was killed in a hit-and-run incident on Waiyaki Way, Nairobi.
