Kenya Railway Corporation has released Sh. 7.8 b to the National Land Commission to facilitate compensation for land by the SGR. It is meant to compensate 1,093 land owners on the stretch where Phase Two of the project will run.
Phase Two of the projects starts from the Nairobi National Park to Ongata Rongai and from Ongata Rongai to Ngong Railway Station. The money is meant to pay land owners of residential and commercial buildings pulled down to pave way for the project.
