Two Machakos ranches to serve as corridor for Nairobi park wildlife

Two vast ranches in Machakos have been granted the licence to operate as conservancies in a shift that will create a single wildlife corridor with the Nairobi National Park.

Wildlife ministry Thursday registered International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) Kapiti Plains and Swara Plains Estates in Machakos County as wildlife conservancy enlarging the city’s park.

The estates comprising of 32,022 acres and 15,000 acres respectively will now act as wildlife corridors connecting to Nairobi National Park…
