The United Nations has listed Kenyan and Tanzanian coastal forests as candidates for inclusion on the Unesco World Heritage List.
UNESCO’s 2020 report on the status of World Heritage Sites in Africa has also proposed the extension of two other designated World Heritage Sites: Mt Kenya National Park and Kenya Lake Systems.
