The Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (Kemsa) says lack of Ministry of Health authorisation has delayed disposal of costly personal protective equipment (PPE) in its stores at market prices.
The agency told Parliament on Monday that aside from the verbal orders, no written instructions had been received from the Ministry of Health to proceed with the sale.
Kemsa is stuck with Covid-19 stocks worth Sh6.3 billion that were purchased at exorbitant prices in March at the onset of the pandemic…
