Kenya Power ordered to deposit Sh27m in trespass row

Kenya Power has been directed to deposit Sh27 million as a condition for suspending compensation to two families for trespassing onto their land and erecting high power cables without their consent.

Court of Appeal directed the power utility company to deposit the amount in a joint-interest earning account, within 30 days.

The judges agreed with KP that Eunice Nkirote and a couple, George Joseph Kang’ethe and Ella Karwitha, might not refund the money in case the appeal succeeds…
