Kenya Red Cross land among plots grabbed – Kwale County


A parcel of land belonging to the Kenya Red Cross is among 60 plots grabbed by private developers in Kwale County. The National Land Commission has started investigations into how said land, was grabbed. Among the parties affected are; The Kenya Red cross, County Tourism Office and a public primary school.

During the start of a 3-day public hearing on unresolved land tenure issues in the county, the commission’s vice chairperson spoke on the same. The event is being held at the Kenya School of Government in Matuga.

She acknowledged receipt of petitions on the controversial Diani Settlement Scheme where a private individual already has title deeds for the land. Land which the two government  institutions and the charitable organization are built on.
