Kisumu county government has suspended the demolition of business kiosks owned by small-scale traders.
This comes days after residents, civil society groups and some leaders complained about the move to destroy the livelihoods of the traders without giving them an alternative place to ply their trade. They also alleged that structures of some powerful people had been spared.
