Senators are today expected to vote on a report on the controversial Ruaraka land that has implicated top government officials.
The senators are expected to either reject or adopt the report after the House debated on it last week where a majority of the legislators are calling for action to be taken for the irregular payment of Sh1.5 billion.
The Public Accounts and Investment Committee prepared the report which is rooting for the CS Interior Fred Matiangi and Education P.S Belio Kipsang to be held responsible.
However, Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen argued that even though the investigative report was good, it was not right to only blame the CS and PS. He pointed out that while parliament has the mandate to do inquiries on such issues, it does not have prosecutorial or investigative powers. Only the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) or the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) can find one culpable, not the House.
