The anti-corruption case facing the suspended National Land Commission chairperson Prof. Muhammad Swazuri has taken a new twist. This is after the Kenya Railways Corporation denied owning the land which is the subject matter of the criminal charge against him.
In a sworn affidavit filed by the corporation’s principal land surveyor; the corporation holds that they don’t own the parcels of land said to have been acquired by the Lands Commission.
NLC should therefore determine their rightful owners. Those are the ones that deserve the compensation and should be duly paid to pave way for the construction of the Standard Gauge Railway.
