Turkana county government has lost a bid to have a matter involving the acquisition of parcels of land for the Lamu Port South Sudan Ethiopia Transport (Lapsset) corridor, handled in court.
Instead, the Court of Appeal upheld a decision of the High Court directing the case to be handled by both county and the national governments, under the Inter-governmental Relations Act.
The judges further said the case by Turkana County and 34 residents was premature because they had not exhausted alternative dispute mechanism process…
